FAQs

Welcome!

Welcome to Totalgenerators.co.uk! In this section we will attempt to answer your frequently asked questions in order to make your life easier. If you feel we haven't answered your question after reading this section please don't hesitate to contact us and we will add your question to this section.

Placing an order

When you have decided upon a suitable generator you simply need to add it to your shopping cart and proceed through the necessary steps. You will need to enter the billing address first (even if you require the generator to be delivered elsewhere). Once you have completed the address sections you will move on to the secure payment page. Our Protx secure server enables you to enter your card details safe in the knowledge that your details will not be seen by anyone else. In fact, as a further security precaution we at Totalgenerators do not even have access to this sensitive information.

Delivery of your order

Your generator will be despatched on a same day basis depending on the time of order. Ideally, it is necessary to order before 12pm for this service but we may be able to extend this on some occasions to suit your requirements. In the unlikely event that we are awaiting stock you will receive a phone call to advise of the delay in despatching your generator. You will also be kept fully aware of the progress of your order at all times. When you receive your generator it is vitally important to check for damage prior to signing for your order. It just makes life easier when claiming damages from the courier.

Generator Warranty Issues

In the unlikely event that you encounter problems with your generator we offer a 12 month parts warranty to give you piece of mind. If you believe you are having difficulties with your generator please follow these steps:

(1) Ensure all the wires leading into the generator and the AVR unit are secured properly. Most issues arise from a loose wire that has simply become unattached during transit or whilst the generator is being moved locally.

(2) If your generator is still not performing to its recommended level please call us on 01745 822452 and we will discuss the issue with you. Due to the weight of the generators it is easier and more cost effective to try and diagnose the problem and dispatch the necessary parts to you. We stock a great many spare parts forall our generators and will do everything necessary to get your generator operating normally as quickly as possible.

(3) In the unlikely event that we are unable to diagnose and repair your generator by dispatching parts to you, we may decide to uplift the generator and either repair or replace it. We will do everything to avoid this course of action in a bid to get your generator working again without the time delay associated with an uplift.
